Symptoms begin 1-2 weeks after an exposure to a person with monkeypox

Symptoms include headache, fever, malaise and a typical rash similar to the one presented in this image.

The illness/ rash typically lasts 2-4 weeks. Persons with monkeypox should remain isolated at home until the rash and symptoms resolve.

Men who have sex with men are at higher risk of exposure to monkeypox and should seek vaccination for monkeypox where available.
